The idea behind this program is to foster a vibrant and mature design community where we can all learn from one another and build supportive relationships through one-on-one guidance and open feedback.

We will match experienced designers, researchers, and leaders in the field with early to mid-level professionals based on what you want to learn, where you’re at in your career, and other preferences.

Program commences with a virtual program meet & greet where we introduce you to your matches and go over some key tips for great mentor mentee relationships.

During the program, frequency and format of one-on-one sessions depends on mentor and mentee preferences.

Program ends with a closing event to exchange experiences and share feedback.

How does matching work?

In your application, you will describe for us what you’re looking for in the mentorship relationship and we will try our best to find the mentor or mentee that fits best with your preferences. To be respectful of everyone’s time, we will also consider applicants’ ability to commit.

Is it possible to be a mentor and mentee at the same time?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it so that you can benefit from both sides of the mentorship relationship!

I’ll be really busy Fall 2020, should I still join?

The mentorship relationship is highly dependent on both the mentor and mentee being able to meet regularly, so we recommend that you apply another time. We plan to reopen this program every year.
